Mercedes unveils most luxurious SUV to date
JAKARTA,BritaBrita.com–SUVs were not originally built with elegance in mind, but Mercedes-Benz redefined the game with its G-Class cars in the early 1970s. On Monday, the German automaker announced the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet, its latest in the G-Class.
Under the hood is a V12 Biturbo engine that puts out 630 horsepower, but the real luxury is inside. Mercedes has stretched the wheelbase of the previous G-Class by about 60 centimeters, then replaced the usual back seats in favor of two of the “first class” seats from its S-Class.
Backseat passengers can fully recline their leather seats and keep their coffee hot and bottled water cool in thermal cup holders. Seats also include massage functions and a fully adjustable calf rest, while lighting and individual 10-inch displays can be controlled from the back.
As reported by thejakartapost.com,Getting into the SUV won’t be a challenge for those who have struggled before, as an electronically extending step makes getting in and out all the more simple.
For more private circumstances, a partition can be raised between the front and back seats and toggled between transparent and opaque. The soft canvas top can be pulled up and over the backseat with a press of a button.
Mercedes will build just 99 of the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulets, and while they have yet to announce how much they will be going for exactly, it is estimated to be at a phenomenal cost.
